Pituitary Gland is an endocrine
gland located at the base of the brain and is as small as a pea and weighs 0.5
grams in humans. Hormones secreted from the pituitary gland helps control- thyroid glands, growth, temperature regulation,
blood pressure, functions of sex organs,
metabolism along with some aspects of pregnancy, childbirth, nursing,
concentration of water & salt in the kidneys. Pituitary Tumor is caused due
to some abnormal growth in Pituitary Gland. These tumor are benign that is
non-cancerous in nature. Benign Tumor has very slight symptoms which are often
neglected by people. Pituitary Tumor can be treated with the help of a surgery.
These tumor is removed through nose or sinuses. Only in few cases it is removed
through the skull.
